Behind the Scenes: Preparing for Our Lion Survey in NgorongoroOver the past five days, our team has undergone intensive training in Kenya to prepare for our upcoming lion survey in Ngorongoro. This crucial training was led by experienced biologists from @lionguardians_ and lion conservation experts from @lionrecovery with additional support from dedicated team members who shared their valuable knowledge and skills.The training focused on understanding the rationale and protocols behind lion survey methods using a capture-recapture framework. Through practical exercises and detailed lessons, we gained essential skills tailored to our unique environment and conditions in Ngorongoro.With this new knowledge, we feel confident and prepared to begin our four-month survey, which will span from the end of the wet season into the dry season.
